Community Development Officer – Contract Position

To enhance community development through programming and activities that encourage community involvement through participation and active engagement. This position will report directly to the Recreation & Wellness Coordinator. The successful incumbent will manage, develop, and implement events, programs, and other related community development activities.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and implement Main Street Market Festival events
- Develop and implement Buy Local Campaign
- Actively engage in events, programs, and activities with the Recreation & Wellness Division
- Effectively interact with participants at events, programs, and activities
- Set up and take down equipment where necessary
- Communicate program information to parents/participants
- Communicate with community groups and partners
- Recruit and manage volunteers for events/activities

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have own method of transportation and valid driver’s license
- Demonstrates good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work independently
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel
- Experience working within a recreational setting, tourism or event management is an asset
- Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in a relevant area of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience is desired

This is a contract position based on 35 hours per week, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, with the expectation of working evenings and weekends when required for events. The successful applicant must be able to work every Sunday until Oct 2 nd, 2022, for community events. The successful candidate will be required to provide a recent Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Job Type: Full Time, Fixed Term Contract
Salary: $17.00/per hour

Manager of Municipal Services (Temporary)

The Town of Stephenville is accepting applications for the role of Temporary Manager of Municipal Services (Three Months).
Under the direction of the Director of Municipal Services, the position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the public works department. This position will provide an operation link between public works employees and the Director of Municipal Services. The candidate will be supervising more than 18 employees within the Public Works Department.
